A host of signposted SwitzerlandMobility routes give you the chance to explore forests, countryside and villages in complete peace of mind. Starting from Yverdon-les-Bains, the capital of the Nord Vaud region, you’ll find numerous routes to the Vaud countryside, or, for example, around Lake Neuchâtel.
When traveling by public transport in Switzerland, you can transport your bike without any worries. With a bike route ticket, bike day pass or bike passport, you can load your bike yourself on many public transport routes in Switzerland.
And the good news is that in the Nord vaudois region, bike transport on the train between Sainte-Croix and Yverdon-les-Bains is free! A great opportunity for mountain bikers wishing to explore the routes in the Sainte-Croix / Les Rasses region. And if you’d like to add a touch of originality to your trip, you can take your bike with you on the LNM boats for CHF 5 (1 stop) or CHF 8 (several stops) in addition to the purchase of your ticket. You can buy your day pass for CHF 20 at the Office du Tourisme du Nord vaudois. For example, you can take a tour of the Bonvillars vineyards and return to Yverdon-les-Bains by boat.
During your cycling or mountain biking outings on the Jura crests, you’ll have the chance to stop for a well-deserved break in one of the many alpine chalets in the region. These little mountain inns offer visitors typical, tasty dishes based on local produce. As many locals do, these chalets serve as a target for outings where comfort is as important as effort. And I promise you, there are plenty of good things to eat and drink in these chalets.
