Orbe is a jewel of Roman and medieval times. Culture, vineyard discovery and local traditions combine for a unique experience.
As a crossroads town, Orbe has long been exposed to repeated invasions. The fortified town still retains an impressive architectural memory, which you can discover on a stroll through its streets or near its Tour Ronde.
The Roman Villa at Boscéaz showcases a collection of mosaics that is unique in Switzerland. Witness to the grandeur of an ancient villa, the site can be visited via a fascinating interactive tour.
Between Orbe and Les Clées, or Vallorbe for the more adventurous, you can discover the Orbe gorges on foot. Unspoilt nature, which allows flora and fauna to flourish, thrives along the river.
On the vineyard side, twelve winegrower-winemakers and almost 50 growers produce wines with the Côtes de l’Orbe AOC appellation. With tastings in the cellars, walks among the vines and bike rides through the vineyards, Orbe offers a complete immersion in the world of wine and terroir.
