Café Primeur

Small cafés in Northern Vaud

It’s well known that our region is full of cultural and gastronomic nuggets. With autumn well and truly upon us, we thought we’d find something to invigorate us! Discover our selection of coffee shops where you can enjoy an espresso, a good breakfast or even a brunch, all in pleasant surroundings.

Bocal & Coffee

Opened at the beginning of the year, Bocal & Coffee is the local and sustainable address launched by the Perusset brothers. Sustainable? Yes, Frédéric and Grégory are bringing old-fashioned dishes back up to date: pot-au-feu, shepherd’s pie and other dishes are offered every week in reusable jars.

And what about coffee? Espresso, cortado and cappucino are also on the menu, to be enjoyed hot or cold. Some drinks change with the seasons, so you’re sure to find what you’re looking for (and a pastry to go with it).

The little extra: the latte macchiato with salted butter caramel, ideal for a break in the morning or the afternoon!

Café de la Promenade

Café de la Promenade is the timeless, warm place to be. From 10 to 11:30 a.m., you can enjoy a delicious brunch: scrambled eggs, avocado toast or golden crust. And let’s not forget the buckwheat pancakes and variations on sweet crêpes.

On the beverage side, you’ll find the classic upside-down, macchiato and decaffeinated coffees. The coffee served is roasted in Savigny, in the canton of Vaud.

Le petit + : si voThe little extra: if you’re looking for entertainment, the café has an authentic bowling alley in the back room. Don’t forget to book ahead!

Café Primeur

Home-made and local, these are the two values of the Café Primeur. You’ll find an atypical drinks menu, from coffee to craft beer. Don’t forget to try the homemade hot chocolate or herbal teas from Bonvillars.

On Saturdays, you’ll find a range of pastries, including cinnamon rolls, dark chocolate cookies and savory tartines. Brunch is offered on Sundays, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, upon reservation.

The little extra: a children’s corner, so you can enjoy your coffee break in complete peace of mind!

Lili-Rose's tea room

Open Tuesday to Sunday, the tea room is an extension of the Gerber-Wyss bakery. Every day, you can choose from a breakfast menu including a choice of hot beverage, fruit juice, pastry, yoghurt and half a baguette.

At lunchtime, you’ll also find a menu featuring croques-monsieurs, quiches and a variety of salads.

The little extra: if you take a look around the bakery, you’ll be able to see the culinary preparations in progress behind the glass!

Il é' Thé une fois, Entre vous & nous

Both a tea bar and a small family-run grocery store, we recommend an address with a difference! Cristina welcomes you to her cocoon on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings. Saturday visits are also possible, subject to prior reservation.

The café, located inside Bofflens’s school building, offers a range of breakfast and hot beverage options that change with the seasons. This autumn, you’ll find a pumpkin spice latte, a gingerbread cappucino or a homemade hot chocolate. Tea lovers won’t be outdone: black, green, rooibos and herbal teas are also available.

The little extra: homemade, seasonal, local delicacies!

Before or after a visit to the interactive museum, take a break in the tea-room. The café is open every day and offers a choice of pastries and chocolates made in the workshop.

Un bA monthly brunch is offered at the end of each month, both in the tea-room and in the restaurant, so don’t forget to reserve your place. And if you want to extend your indulgence, remember to buy a packet of vanilla palms for the house 😉

The little extra: sign up for seasonal workshops: gingerbread house or Christmas cookies!

Boulangerie Ackermann

Whether you’re coming alone or meeting friends, you’ll find a selection of artisanal products, pastries and drinks at the Ackermann bakery. In the morning, take advantage of a breakfast tray, consisting of a choice of hot drink, freshly squeezed orange juice, three mini-viennoiseries, traditional bread with butter and homemade spread.

You’ll also find classic carac and lemon meringue tarts, so you’re spoilt for choice.

The little extra: the award-winning artisan breads are well worth the detour!
