Grab a rucksack and a water bottle and set off along the hiking trails in and around Vallorbe. Nestled in the Jura mountain range, you’ll find the Suchet, which stands proudly at 1588 m, or the Gorges de l’Orbe, the eponymous river of this small town of almost 8,000 inhabitants.
A host of signposted SuisseMobile routes offer you the chance to explore the forests, wine-producing villages and vineyards of the Côtes de l’Orbe or simply the countryside of the Plaine de l’Orbe. Various routes invite visitors and the curious to discover the center of Orbe, through its charming and colorful lanes.
During your cycling or mountain biking outings on the Jura crests, you’ll have the chance to stop for a well-deserved break in one of the many alpine chalets in the region. These little mountain inns offer visitors typical, tasty dishes based on local produce. As many locals do, these chalets serve as a target for outings where comfort is as important as effort.
