Orbe is a jewel of Roman and medieval times. Culture, vineyard discovery and local traditions combine for a unique experience.
As a crossroads town, Orbe has long been exposed to repeated invasions. The fortified town still retains an impressive architectural memory, which you can discover on a stroll through its streets or near its Tour Ronde.
The Roman villa at Boscéaz features a series of mosaics that are unique in Switzerland. A testament to the grandeur of an ancient villa, the site can be visited via a fascinating interactive tour.
Between Orbe and Les Clées, or Vallorbe for the more adventurous, the Orbe gorges can be explored on foot. An unspoilt natural environment, where flora and fauna flourish, develops along the river.
In the vineyards, twelve winemakers and almost 50 farmers produce Côtes de l’Orbe AOC wines. With tastings in the cellars, walks among the vines and bike rides through the vineyards, Orbe offers total immersion in the world of wine and terroir.
