The Château’s one-hectare truffle farm is dedicated to growing the prestigious Tuber uncinatum and Tuber melanosporum truffles. As you wander through the rows of oak and hazel trees, you’ll explore a world where tradition meets modernity in the quest for one of gastronomy’s most coveted delicacies. The truffle farm is more than just a picturesque setting; it reflects a rich history and a passion for agricultural excellence. Each visit is a plunge into the life cycle of the truffle, from its mysterious formation underground to its delicate harvest.
Your experience at Mathod would not be complete without a stroll through the historic gardens of the castle, recently highlighted by their listing as a monument of national importance. These gardens, which blossom with the seasons, offer an exceptional panorama of the region’s botanical wealth and architectural heritage.
For the full experience, you can add a stay in one of the Château’s guest rooms to your visit.
