Carte musicale de l’été 2023

29 Sep 2024
On Sunday 9 June and 29 September, a new edition of the Carte Musicale de l’Été will be held at the Temple d’Yverdon-les-Bains.

On Sunday 9 June, the Chœur Vivace de Lausanne, accompanied by piano and organ, will perform Maurice Duruflé’s magnificent Requiem for choir and soloists at the Temple d’Yverdon-les-Bains. Conducted by Johanna Hernandez, with Gaia Capporicio on piano and Tomaso Mazoletti on organ, this concert promises to be an exceptional musical experience.

On Sunday 29 September, a new edition of the Carte Musicale de l’Été will be held at the Temple d’Yverdon-les-Bains. The concert will take place in the exceptional setting of this temple, built in 1767. Wood is omnipresent, providing exceptional acoustics.

The programme features performances by Christian Delafontaine on transverse flute, Hans Christian Sarnau on alto violin, Criszina Bellu on cello and Baptiste Fabureau on violin.

On his way to Paris in 1777, Mozart stayed in Mannheim and received a commission for several works from Ferdinand de Jean, an amateur flautist and wealthy surgeon. The flute played a predominant role, establishing itself as a solo instrument in scores with a gallant style that reflected the tastes of the Mannheim court. Some of the quartets, such as the jovial K. 298, were composed later in Vienna, with each movement based on a well-known tune, varied or parodied by Mozart.
