The region offers many places to discover for unforgettable vacations

When you come to the Nord Vaud region, you’ll find countless things to do, especially in the fields of nature and culture.

First and foremost, one of the region’s not-to-be-missed attractions: the Vallorbe Caves. Open to the public for over 50 years, they offer a fascinating journey to the heart of the earth, where stalactites, stalagmites and draperies present a magnificent spectacle, shaped by the passage of water over the centuries. A variety of must-see sites will make your vacation an unforgettable experience, rich in discovery and emotion.

A multitude of hiking and biking itineraries offer you the chance to explore the forests, countryside, vineyards and villages of the Nord Vaudois region in complete tranquillity. Wherever you find yourself, there are plenty of trails to choose from.

Travelling by public transport in Switzerland means you can get to many places, even the most remote, which is ideal for visiting the northern Vaud region.

A canyon in northern Vaud. Starting from Yvonand, discover a natural setting just a stone's throw from Lake Neuchâtel. The tour culminates at the Tour St-Martin in Chêne-Pâquier.

Be sure to check the opening hours of the various sights and restaurants before you visit. Most are closed on Mondays. Paying attention to the weather will enable you to plan your outdoor outings at the best possible time, and enjoy museums and other indoor activities on days less fortunate with the weather.
