Ahou, ahou, ahou!
The Balcon du Jura, with its typical Jura chain landscapes of forests and pastures, is an ideal playground for outdoor activities such as mountain biking and hiking. But on June 15th 2024, this playground will become that of the Spartans!

The SPARTAN Sainte-Croix returns for its third edition.
With a growing success rate – almost 3,000 runners by 2023 – this obstacle race is aimed at those who are eager to compete and surpass themselves. With two distinct formats, SPRINT over 5 km and SUPER over
10 km, you’ll overcome numerous obstacles through the countryside and the town of Sainte-Croix.
In addition, a race format adapted to children is proposed. With the KIDS, children aged 4 to 14 can also try their hand at overcoming obstacles. An activity sure to please the most adventurous of budding young athletes.
And don’t forget to take in the view! From the crests of the Jura, you can admire the Alps, Lake Neuchâtel and the entire plain of the Canton of Vaud, but don’t lose sight of your goal: the race!
When you come to SPARTAN, you’ll discover a real little corner of paradise on the Balcon du Jura.
Sainte-Croix, although not very visible from the plain, is a small commune of around 5,000 inhabitants, where conviviality and family spirit reign supreme. Surrounded by forests and pastures, you can get away from it all by taking advantage of the many safe, signposted hiking and mountain bike trails. Along the way, you’ll find a number of alpine chalets where you can stop to sample local specialities.
In winter, Sainte-Croix / Les Rasses is a little corner of paradise, with its beautiful, snow-covered landscapes. With numerous snowshoeing and ski touring itineraries, the Balcon du Jura peaks are ideal for exceptional moments in the heart of winter.
To come to Sainte-Croix is also to come to the International Capital of Art Mechanics. In early June, Sainte-Croix will inaugurate a brand new museum dedicated to the industry’s history. The MuMAPS (Museum of Mechanical Art and Heritage of Sainte-Croix) will offer visitors a unique experience, with guided and self-guided tours, to discover this fascinating industrial history.

Simply because it’s an opportunity to outdo yourself! After running a SPARTAN, you’ll be proud to say “I did it!” and that’s priceless.
With its many obstacles and physical challenges, it’s a personal achievement to cross the finish line.
What’s more, getting to Sainte-Croix is super-easy: 30 minutes by train from Yverdon-les-Bains, and from Sainte-Croix station to the sport center, 10 minutes by foot and you’ll be at the start of the race. By car, you can park along the roadside according to the directions given by the volunteers on site. Afterwards, a shuttle bus will pick up the riders and the public and take them directly to the town of Sainte-Croix.
