The vineyards of Bonvillars and their typical villages dedicated to wine-making slowly give way to vegetation more characteristic of a mountainous region before the pines of the Jura take over. The views, initially over the vines and the lake and then the chain of the Alps, will take your breath away – as will the climb! Once you have reached the Col de l’Aiguillon you are well rewarded by the descent to the plain.
You can shorten the route – after Bonvillars run along the foot of the Jura as far as Baulmes before reaching Yverdon-les-Bains (see the map).
