Vaud cantonal youth wrestling festival

The main objective of this competition is to tackle the opponent into the sawdust while maintaining a firm grip on his jute breeches, in a demonstration of strength and skill.

Open from the age of 8, the age categories offer an opportunity for all young wrestlers to take up the challenge. As well as the competitive aspect, the event aims to bring together more than 200 participants, aged between 8 and 18, from the six cantons of French-speaking Switzerland. It’s an opportunity to promote wrestling in the region while encouraging young people to get involved. In addition, this sporting festival aims to create a new wrestling club in Yverdon-les-Bains, strengthening the sport’s presence in the local community.

Finally, this competition will serve as a selection criterion for the prestigious Journée Fédérale des Lutteurs Espoirs to be held in Sion on 25 August 2024. By offering prizes in kind to all participants, the event aims to reward effort and promote sportsmanship.
