Theatrical concert by Les Baladins du Faubourg

Les Baladins du Faubourg offer us a sonic and musical immersion in the city of Naples, one of the main musical centres of 18th century Europe. The greatest composers of the era gathered there: Porpora, Durante, Leo, Scarlatti, Gluck, and even Mozart.

Using a narrator and context, we follow the adventures of a disciple of the Yverdonian encyclopaedist de Felice as he discovers Naples, where the omnipresent music mingles with the intoxicating hustle and bustle of the city. Singers and instrumentalists specialised in the Italian Baroque will recreate this world of sound, made up of the different musical genres of the period: church music mingling with madrigals, and traditional music with opera.
