This autumn, book your stay in Northern Vaud and discover the gourmet world of truffles.
Indeed, the mushroom and its different varieties are commonly found in the region, thanks to its limestone soil.
Did you know? The region is home to four truffle-growing areas, all of which are open to visitors. The Northern Vaud is also Switzerland’s leading truffle-growing region.
No holiday would be complete without a visit to a truffle farm, accompanied by an experienced truffle cellarer. For almost two hours, you’ll hear from truffle growers in Bavois, Bonvillars, Mathod or Suchy.
You’ll learn all about the different tree species, truffle cultivation and the particularities of each variety. During your visit, you’ll also be treated to a truffle-harvesting demonstration, accompanied by a truffle dog.
Last but not least, every reservation includes a tasting of truffle-based products. Each cellarman concocts his own preparations for you to taste: tartine, mousse, or even ice cream in some cases! All accompanied by AOC Bonvillars or Côtes de l’Orbe wines.
