City of Yverdon-les-Bains

Christmas markets in Northern Vaud

ADNV – Justine Perrenoud

2024 is already drawing to a close, and what better way to finish than with a Christmas market?

The smell of waffles and crêpes, spicy mulled wine and all those things that make Christmas markets so magical are back!

For market-goers, a multitude of markets will be held in the region: over a month, a week, a weekend or even a single day. There’s something for everyone this pre-holiday season.

Yverdon-les-Bains Christmas Market

In the heart of the city, on the Place Pestalozzi, discover the Christmas Market, where craftsmen and conviviality take center stage.

For almost a month, from November 30 to December 24, the Yverdon-les-Bains Christmas Market welcomes you with a variety of stalls and entertainment. Inside the castle, numerous artisans will be present, including the Office du tourisme du Nord vaudois. On the square, a canteen and an arbour will offer you the opportunity to share a warm moment over one or more mulled wines. There will also be a wide variety of catering options.

For families, Santa Claus will be at the rendezvous, accompanied by a variety of activities, including face painting for children, a lantern procession and even a toboggan run!

Also worth noting: night-time events in town, open until 8pm on December 19, 20, 21 and 23.

Christmas market at La Fabrique

In Champagne, La Fabrique is organizing a Christmas market from December 7 to 15.

On this occasion, a number of artisans from Champagne and the surrounding area are delighted to share their products with you. From natural cosmetics and make-up, to ceramic creations, and various stands dedicated to gourmet delights: this market is packed with wonderful discoveries.

In addition, a variety of events are planned, particularly at weekends and in the evenings. For example, on Saturday, December 7, if you’re bringing your children, you can treat them to a pony ride for CHF 5, as well as a meeting with Santa Claus, who will stop by Champagne around 4pm.

For pastry-lovers, workshops led by La Fabrique professionals will enable you to create your own gingerbread house, for just CHF 15 per person. Finally, on Tuesday December 10 at 5:30 p.m., a paper-cut workshop will be offered for adults.
