Pré-Giroud Fort Tower

This route leads through the woods of Vallorbe to the Pré-Giroud military fort, an authentic site of Swiss defence during the 39-45 war.

This route invites you to explore the countryside around Vallorbe. Following the River Orbe, you’ll come across the Day viaduct, a majestic structure that you can cross and from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Vallorbe and the Dent de Vaulion. After that, a climb towards the Pré-Giroud military fort will take you to a witness to Swiss history during the Second World War. Nestling in the heart of this unspoilt landscape, this fort played a crucial role in the defence of Swiss territory during this tumultuous period. A visit to this fortification offers an enriching and memorable experience for visitors in search of adventure and historical discovery.
