Born in Yverdon in 1898, Robert Piguet is regarded as “the Prince of Fashion”. His fashion house (1933-1951), located at the Rond-Point des Champs-Elysées, dressed the great personalities of the day, including Edwige Feuillère, Gabrielle Dorziat, Edith Piaf and the Egyptian Court. Robert Piguet did not design his own collections, but hired promising young designers such as Christian Dior, Hubert de Givenchy, Castillo and Marc Bohan. He also created perfumes, Bandit in 1944 and Fracas in 1948.
The MuMode collection houses around 12,000 garments and accessories dating from the 18th century to the present day. The museum offers temporary exhibitions, tours of its reserves, as well as events and workshops. Programme and information on our website.
