A pioneering figure in Swiss industrial design, Richard Authier devoted most of his career to Paillard, the flagship company of northern Vaud, helping to design its radios, Thorens record players, Bolex cameras and Hermes typewriters.
To mark the 100th anniversary of his birth, MuMAPS and ECAL (the Lausanne Cantonal School of Art) have joined forces to pay tribute to this designer. Building on a research project carried out at ECAL and the publication of a book dedicated to Richard Authier, the exhibition traces his career spanning more than four decades and invites visitors to discover the lasting mark he has left on Swiss industrial design.
