Located on the southern shore of Lake Neuchâtel, the Grande Cariçaie nature reserve is home to a number of unsuspected treasures. And just as well, during the summer of 2026, a number of different tours offer you the chance to immerse yourself in the reserve.
Glide over the tranquil waters of Lake Neuchâtel and explore one of Switzerland’s natural gems from the comfort of your canoe: the Grande Cariçaie. Accompanied by a biologist, you’ll discover reeds, migratory birds and beaver tracks in an exceptional nature reserve.
Each stroke of the paddle is an invitation to marvel at the rhythm of a preserved and generous nature. The tour scrupulously respects the areas accessible to the public and the rules for protecting the site.
To preserve the tranquillity of wildlife, dogs are not allowed.

In the wild world of the Menthue, come and meet a discreet but fascinating inhabitant: the beaver. Guided by a passionate biologist, you’ll learn to spot its tracks, understand its lifestyle and discover its essential role in the wetlands of the Grande Cariçaie.
At dusk, with your senses alert and flashlight in hand, you’ll explore the nooks and crannies they frequent. Perhaps you’ll be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of this large rodent at work…
To preserve the tranquillity of the area, dogs are not permitted. The outing respects the accessible zones of the nature reserve.
