Concert – The Bad Plus (US) + 60 Miles (CH)

Over the past two decades, The Bad Plus has played with wit and adventure. Avoiding easy categorisation, The Bad Plus has won critical acclaim and a legion of fans worldwide. The band continues to push boundaries as founding members Reid Anderson and Dave King embark on a new incarnation of the band without piano.

If 60 Miles is indeed jazz, the trio is happy to add ‘among other things’ to that classification, with the question: these days, is there any jazz that refers only to itself, that feeds only on its own tradition? 60 Miles has thus chosen to play its own music, fed as much by Parker, Jarrett or Cohen as by Led Zeppelin, Radiohead or Beethoven.
