Nestling in the heart of Europe, Slovenia, celebrated for its mountain landscapes and crystal-clear lakes, draws its musical folklore from much older roots, particularly its songs and dances, which play a major part in its unique identity.
The Slovenian Quartet, welcomed by ‘Pleins-Jeux’ for this summer concert, carries the very essence of the Slovenian soul beyond its borders. Matej Avbelj, first tenor, Peter Grdadolnik, second tenor, Rok Bavčar, wide-ranging baritone, and Matija Bizjan, deep bass.
While this quartet demonstrates its dedication to the rich folklore of its homeland, the four singers also offer more demanding pieces by foreign composers, allowing them to showcase their versatility and commitment to musical excellence.
