On the heights of Romainmôtier, Fleur de Farine is the comforting spot par excellence, with a breathtaking view of the abbey church. With local and artisanal products, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Léo can only recommend that you stop by for a taillé aux greubons or buy a walnut loaf for your picnic.
P.S.: the soups and ham croissants are also excellent!

An emblematic monument of Romainmôtier, and indeed of the Nord Vaudois region, the abbey church can be enjoyed all year round. The ambience, both majestic and peaceful, gives you the feeling of being suspended in time.
As Léo explains, a large number of local residents contribute to the success of the events organized and help to promote local crafts and heritage. Examples include the Romainmôtier and Les Sonnailles concerts.
The Cour du Cloître (Cloister Courtyard) gives you a fine view of the surrounding buildings, as well as the fountain.

Listed as a historic monument of national importance since 1959, the Maison du Prieur has lived through several historical periods. It was originally built to accommodate distinguished religious guests on pilgrimage to Romainmôtier.
Today, the Maison du Prieur is a gourmet spot, hosting monthly brunches based on regional products. Léo recommends you try one of their pies, a childhood favorite.

After a 15-minute walk, we arrive at the Source de la Diaz. Once used to supply Romainmôtier’s fountains, this spring bears witness to the passage of time. Today, it is the highlight of a rejuvenating walk, accessible to all.
For Léo, the place brings back memories of growing up with his sister, where they loved to build dams from whatever they could find in the forest, like engineers.
