Looking to plan a family outing this summer? We suggest you visit one or more of Vallorbe’s tourist attractions.
If you’re a history buff, you’ll enjoy a visit to Fort Pré-Giroud, which was built during the Second World War to defend Switzerland from attack. An interesting guided tour awaits you.
Practical info :
During your day in Vallorbe, you can take advantage of the terrace of the Auberge Communale to quench your thirst with a view of the river, or just a few steps away, head to the “presqu’île” to visit the Iron and Railway Museum. There’s also a picnic area where you can spend some quality time with the family.
Enjoy strolling through Yverdon-les-Bains this summer with the various activities on offer in the capital of the Jura-Nord Vaudois district.
When the sun isn’t playing hide-and-seek, there’s no question about it: it’s bathing suit and towel time for the beach. In fact, we’re lucky enough to have large open spaces close to the lake, where you can read, sunbathe, play Frisbee, soccer or grill, while cooling off in the lake. And, of course, you can do more than just cool off, as the lake offers a wide range of water sports activities, with Y-Plage: pedal boats, paddle boats, kayaks and windsurfing, all available for hire from the nautical center.
Not far from the beach, the Menhirs de Clendy await you on your way to the Centre Pro Natura in Champ-Pittet. There’s everything on site to make children (and adults) aware of nature and its preservation. You can also visit the heart of the Grande Cariçaie nature reserve, home to numerous plant and animal species. In particular, it’s a great place for birdwatching, so don’t forget your binoculars and cameras.
Then, in the city center, you’ll have the chance to explore the historic center, with its Place Pestalozzi, pedestrian streets and castle. You’ll also find Maison d’Ailleurs, Europe’s only museum devoted to science fiction, which is currently presenting its exhibition
